McLean Day Schools Settlement Corporation (MDSSC) are the proud stewards of the MDSSC Legacy Fund, a $200 million settlement created to support Federal Indian Day School Survivors in the areas of language and culture, healing and wellness, commemoration and truth telling.

We are excited for our next virtual MDSSC Legacy Fund National Outreach Session on January 25 2022 at 11:30 AM – 4:00 PM EST, as we invite all Federal Indian Day School Survivors and their families to participate. This will be a bilingual session, with interpretation available in both French and English.

We have heard from many in our communities that this is a difficult time. That’s why we are evolving our approach to hear from Survivors and their families in a way that respects the impacts of COVID-19 in our communities.

McLean Day Schools Settlement Corporation is honoured to invite all Federal Indian Day School Survivors and their families to attend our upcoming virtual Information Session to learn more about the Legacy Fund Outreach Process, a way for Survivors and families to give us input directly to help guide the implementation of the Legacy Fund and ensure it is responsive to the unique needs of Survivors.

As the stewards of the MDSSC Legacy Fund, the McLean Day Schools Settlement Corporation (MDSSC) has begun work on the MDSSC Legacy Fund Outreach Process over the past few months.

This process is designed to receive direct input from Survivors and their families on how the MDSSC Legacy Fund, a $200 million settlement that was created to support Federal Indian Day School Survivors in the areas of language & culture, healing & wellness, commemoration, and truth telling, can best serve the unique needs of our communities.

We are inviting all Federal Indian Day Schools Survivors and their families to the next upcoming Legacy Fund Information Session on November 16, 2021 at 4:00 PM EST.

We are pleased to invite all Federal Indian Day School Survivors and their families in the following regions to participate in our upcoming Regional Outreach Sessions. These sessions are for Survivors (and those related to them) to provide their input directly to help guide the implementation of the Legacy Fund and ensure it is responsive to their unique needs.

Last week marked a major milestone for the McLean Day Schools Settlement Corporation (MDSSC), with the celebration of our launch event on Thursday, August 19.

Held exactly two years after the courts approved the McLean Federal Indian Day Schools Class Action settlement, the event was designed for and by Federal Indian Day School Survivors, commemorating the launch of our organization, as well as the initiation of our historic national outreach process for Survivors and their families to shape our Legacy Fund.
